Return & Claims Policy

We take pride in the quality of our products and strive to ensure every order meets our high standards.
Please review the following policies regarding shipped, in-store, and perishable items.

For Shipped Orders

Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt.
All claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery.

If an issue arises due to an error on our part, we will correct it promptly.

We are not responsible and cannot issue refunds or replacements for:

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses.

  • Shipments sent to P.O. boxes.

  • Shipments to apartment buildings without concierge or secure delivery areas. Once delivered, we are not responsible for delays, theft, or temperature changes affecting perishables.

  • Delays caused by weather, courier errors, or “Acts of God.”
    Our packaging is insulated for up to 3 days of travel (except during warmer months). We use Overnight, 1-Day, or 2-Day shipping whenever possible, but we cannot control carrier delays.
    By completing your purchase, you agree not to hold lalibertecheese.com, Laliberte Cheese & Gourmet Pantry, or affiliates responsible for shipping delays or temperature variations.
    Orders shipped outside our direct delivery area (Comox Valley, Campbell River, Qualicum) are not guaranteed to arrive below 4°C.

  • Unopened shipments.

  • Gift shipments where the recipient is unavailable to receive delivery.
    Please notify recipients of pending deliveries. Unless other arrangements are made at checkout or immediately after purchase, we ship as soon as possible.

  • Items that have been discarded or consumed.

For items purchased in person at Laliberte Cheese & Gourmet Pantry:

  1. Timeframe
    Returns or exchanges may be requested within 30 days of purchase, provided the item meets the condition requirements below.

  2. Condition Requirements

    • Item must be unused, in resalable condition, and in its original packaging or with tags.

    • A valid sales receipt or proof of purchase is required.

    • Refunds are issued to the original payment method; exchanges or store credits may be provided at our discretion.

  3. Exclusions
    The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable:

    • All perishable food items (see below)

    • Items marked Final Sale

    • Gift cards, special orders, or custom products

  4. Condition of Returns
    Items that are damaged, used, worn, or missing packaging may not be eligible for refund or exchange.

  5. Management Discretion
    Laliberte Cheese & Gourmet Pantry Ltd reserves the right to deny or limit returns if the item does not meet these requirements.

 

Food & Perishable Items

Due to health and safety regulations, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on any perishable food items, including cheeses, meats, or other refrigerated goods — even if the packaging is unopened.

If a product arrives or is purchased in damaged, spoiled, or incorrect condition due to our error, please contact us within 48 hours with proof of purchase and, if possible, a photo of the issue.
We will gladly replace or refund the affected item at our discretion.

Taste & Preference

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for products based on personal taste preferences.
As cheese and specialty foods can vary in flavour, texture, and intensity, we encourage customers to ask for recommendations or product details before purchasing.
